Mohammed bin Rashid honours winners of Dubai Government Excellence Programme
DUBAI, 18th November, 2021 – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, today honoured the winners of the 24th edition of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP).
“Innovation in government work is the engine for the future.
The name of the UAE and Dubai has always been connected with excellence and creativity in work.
We have come a long way in our journey and we have more to do to change traditional concepts in government work patterns,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said while recognising the winners.
”Our meeting today underscores our determination to pursue the journey of excellence and leadership and forge ahead towards a bright future that generates increasing new, creative opportunities,” His Highness added.
He congratulated the Dubai government innovators, lauding them as ”positive, influential beacons” and ”role models of excellence” and urged them to promote the culture of excellence and innovation.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, H.
Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and a number of ministers and heads of government departments.

I also congratulate all employees, officials and partners in all sectors.
You have succeeded in overcoming Covid-19 and provided a global model in crisis management.
You have succeeded in achieving a healthy economic balance for Dubai.
The Dubai government continues to soar even during the crisis.
The DGEP institutional awards consist of three levels of assessment and recognition: the Basic level, the Excellence level, and the Elite level.
The goal is to take governmental performance to unprecedented top global levels and to provide real opportunities for entities to reap the fruit of their continuous efforts to develop and improve.
Honours were awarded the Government Leading Entity; Best Entity in Innovation; Best Entity in achieving Dubai Plan 2021; Happiest Work Environment; Best Entity in Digital Government; Best Entity inService Provision; Best Entity in Efficiency and Governance; and Best People of Determination Friendly Government Entity.
A number of awards were presented to ‘Unknown Soldiers’.
In September 1997, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed established the DGEP to be the driving force behind the development of Dubai’s government sector.
The programme has contributed to a radical change in the performance, concepts, practices and management methods applied in the government sector, thanks to the cooperation of government entities and the programme management in applying standards for models of institutional and functional excellence and utilizing them in continuous improvements in their performance and services.
