Meghan Markle Reveals New Homeware Brand While Netflix Show Offers No Mention of Merchandise in California

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has officially launched her new homeware brand, but there’s an interesting twist to her strategy that has left some fans scratching their heads.

As her Netflix cooking and entertaining show, With Love, Meghan, gets ready to stream starting March 4, it seems that her homeware products won’t be featured on the show, even though they are expected to be sold as part of her lifestyle range.

No Mention of Homeware Products in Meghan’s Netflix Show

Sources who have seen a preview of Meghan’s series suggest that while viewers will see her using products like candles, wine, jams, honey, and even edible flowers during her episodes, there’s no direct mention of her homeware line.

This omission has raised questions about the marketing strategy behind the show, as it appears to lack a clear connection to the brand.

At no point does Meghan tell the audience that they can buy these items from her homeware collection.

The Brand Name Change and Trademark Troubles

Originally, Meghan had planned to name her brand “American Riviera Orchard,” a nod to the Santa Barbara region where she and Prince Harry live.

However, the name was rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office because businesses are prohibited from trademarking geographic locations.

This led to a rebranding, and the new name is now “As Ever.”

In a video she shared earlier this week, Meghan explained how “As Ever” reflects her long-standing passion for cooking, gardening, and crafting, dating back to her blog The Tig.

Unfortunately, the new logo hasn’t been without controversy either.

The design, which features two hummingbirds flanking a palm tree, was criticized for closely resembling the coat of arms of a town in Majorca.

Adding to the drama, the owner of a clothing brand called As Ever NYC has now sought legal advice over the name.

Monty Don’s Garden Surprises

Meanwhile, TV presenter Monty Don was taken aback when his old home in London was advertised with the tag, “garden designed by Monty Don,” 36 years after he sold it.

He was reminded of how much the modest garden, once home to his and his wife Sarah Erskine’s jewellery business, had changed.

“It was advertised for £1.7 million, and I thought it probably added a little extra value with that garden mention,” Don joked.

The garden was also full of scrap metal left by the previous owner who used to buy cars for parts.

The two shared a warm bromance moment, with Powell speaking fondly of Cruise’s mentorship and support. The pair is expected to reunite soon for a Top Gun: Maverick sequel.

The BAFTA Cocktail Steals the Show

The true winner at the BAFTA ceremony may have been the Don Julio tequila cocktail, which became the talk of the night.

Named “La Musa Dorada,” the drink was served in tiny brown bottles and is said to have contributed to quite a few wicked hangovers.

It’s no surprise that Don Julio was the official spirit partner for the event, offering a range of creative cocktails to the elite crowd.
