March for Life celebrates its 51st anniversary in January; here’s what to anticipate this year

March for Life Speakers and Highlights

The March for Life, a significant pro-life event, features a diverse lineup of speakers who share their perspectives and experiences.

Among them are former NFL tight end Benjamin Watson, Pastor Greg Laurie and Cathe Laurie, Antiochian Orthodox Bishop John Abdalah, pro-life author Aisha Taylor, Jim Daly of Focus on the Family, Christian musician Danny Gokey, and Antonio Carlos Tavares de Mello, who oversees an organization caring for abandoned children, some disabled from failed abortion attempts.

Event Schedule

The March for Life spans three days, commencing on Wednesday, Jan. 17, and incorporates various activities and programs.

Wednesday, Jan. 17: The March for Life Expo

The event kicks off with the March for Life Expo at the Westin D.C. Downtown Hotel. Open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the expo offers marchers an opportunity to connect, explore pro-life organization booths, and volunteer for pro-life ministries.

Subsequent days continue the expo from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

Thursday, Jan. 18: Pro-Life Lobbying Workshop

Thursday provides a chance for attendees to engage in a free workshop on pro-life lobbying for elected representatives.

The day also features insights from a panel of top pro-life lobbyists and policy experts, with registration available on the March for Life website.

Friday, Jan. 19: Life Fest and March for Life Rally

“Life Fest” precedes the main march, offering worship, Mass, music, and testimonies at the D.C. Armory. Speakers include Cardinal Sean O’Malley and Monsignor James Shea.

The March for Life officially begins at noon with a pro-life rally and free live concert, livestreamed on multiple platforms.

Participants commence marching around 1 p.m., proceeding from 12th to 14th Streets, NW, up Constitution Ave., and concluding at the U.S. Capitol steps.

Post-March Activities

After the march, “Silent No More” features spoken testimonies outside the Supreme Court.

Friday night presents an opportunity to attend the Rose Dinner Gala through ticket purchase, capping off the impactful three-day event.
