Conor Browne, aged 28 and from the Strabane area, was assaulted outside a bar on Main Street in Castlederg on Saturday, resulting in his later demise.

On Monday, two men, aged 31 and 27, were apprehended in connection with the incident. Additionally, two 28-year-old men, who had been previously detained, remained in police custody as of Monday evening.

The authorities issued a plea for witnesses to step forward, urging anyone with information that could aid their investigation into the young man’s death to contact the Major Investigation Team at 101, quoting reference 127 02/09/23.

The Castlederg Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club Caislean na Deirge Naomh Eoghan expressed deep sorrow in a social media post, describing Conor Browne as a diligent, compassionate, humorous, and considerate young man. They remembered him for his ever-present warm smile and willingness to help others, emphasizing his positive impact on the community.
