Major fire breakout in Kirribilli cause traffic delays on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

On Tuesday afternoon, traffic on Sydney Harbour Bridge was disrupted by smoke haze from a suspected restaurant fire near Kirribilli House.

Large plumes of dense smoke could be seen rising towards the motorway on Sydney Harbour’s northern shore, near the bridge.

A social media alert was sent to cars driving northbound and southbound on the motorway due to the smoke haze, with lane 6 apparently restricted.

A large backlog of traffic heading out of the city could be seen forming on the bridge as it approached the billowing smoke.

Fire crews and police were rushing to the scene just before 4pm to attend the blaze, which is close to the Prime Minister’s official Sydney home at Kirribilli House, still currently occupied by ex-PM Scott Morrison and his family.
