Ogun State workers especially those in the health sector have been called upon to continue to be up and doing in the discharge of their duties while infrastructural facilities within their domain are properly maintained.

The Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro made the call today in his office at Oke-mosan, Abeokuta while playing host to the management team of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu who paid a courtesy visit to him.

According to him, the health workers must continue to be diligent and hard working in order to return the OOUTH to the best health facility it is known for, maintaining that the equipment and all infrastructural facilities in place must be put to good use for the betterment of all.

He promised to continue to work together with them to achieve the aim so as to put a decrease to medical tourism being witnessed.

Speaking earlier, the Acting Chief Medical Director of the OOUTH, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwabunmi Fatungase while congratulating the new Head of Service on his appointment pledged the continued support of the sector and solicited for more assistance in turning around the fortunes of the facility, with a robust working relationship between them sustained.

In the same vein, members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ogun State Branch have been charged to keep the flag of diligence, dedication and hard work flying in the discharge of their duties.

The Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro gave the charge while receiving the executive members of NULGE, led by its President, Comrade Ayuba Olatunji in his office at Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

According to the Head of Service, all hands must be on deck to ensure improved revenue generation into government coffers by the workers and noted that all the agitations of the union tabled before him are being looked into by the concerned authorities.

Speaking earlier, the President, NULGE, Ogun State Branch, Comrade Ayuba Olatunji said the union came to felicitate the HoS on his appointment, as he is a round peg in a round hole for the Civil Service at this period, and enunciated the challenges facing the workers with a plea for immediate attention.

In another development, the Head of Service has again called for continued prayers to make him succeed in his new assignment and for the upliftment of the Civil Service.

Dr. Nafiu Aigoro made the call when the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam came on a courtesy visit to his office at Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

According to him, he could not have made it thus far in his career but for the prayers and support received and solicited for more as he cannot carry out the tasks alone.

“I am grateful to you all. I couldn’t have made it this far but for your support and prayers. Continue the support to move the Civil Service to the next level as I cannot do it alone”, the Head of Service said.

Earlier in a speech, the National Legal Adviser, Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Hon. Tajudeen Agoro, who laid credence to the Head of Service’s Late father, Alhaji Ola Aigoro, for his contributions and great values said the emergence of Dr. Aigoro as the Head of Service wasn’t surprising and promised continuous prayers and support for the HoS to succeed.
