Luke Littler Dominates Michael van Gerwen to Win World Darts Championship and Shares Personal Triumphs Like Sticker Collection and Xbox Moments

After a thrilling victory at the World Darts Championship, Luke Littler is soaking in some well-deserved relaxation.

The 17-year-old darting sensation, who captured the hearts of fans with his unexpected run to the final in his debut at the tournament last year, returned this time aiming to go even further.

He certainly made his mark.

A Historic Win and Major Cash Prize

Littler faced off against darting legend Michael van Gerwen earlier this month and delivered a commanding performance, clinching the win and walking away with £500,000 in prize money.

The victory capped off an incredible year for Littler, who, in just 12 months, earned over £1 million in prize money.

This achievement secured his position as the second-highest player on the PDC’s Order of Merit, just behind Luke Humphries.

Celebrating His Success

With the Bahrain Darts Masters just days away, Littler took to social media to share the perks of his success with his followers.

On Instagram, he posted that he received a massive pack of official Premier League stickers from Panini, expressing his excitement in a story: “Well then the sticker collection starts now thankyou @paniniukofficial wow.”

The young champion followed up with another post showing off a large batch of stickers, thanking Panini again: “Surely I complete the collection after these thank you once again @paniniukofficial.”

Enjoying Some Time Off

In another Instagram story, Littler gave fans a glimpse of his Xbox Series console with the caption: “Back to normal for a few days,” signaling some time off before the next competition.

When asked how he’d spend his winnings after his run to the World Championship final, Littler revealed his simple pleasures: “I always treat myself to some Under Armour tracksuits.

And just get myself a new coat and get myself some Fifa points for my Xbox. That’s pretty much it.”

A Dream Collaboration with Xbox

Before this year’s tournament, Littler signed an exciting partnership with Xbox.

Through the deal, fans had the chance to win exclusive prizes based on his performances at the Ally Pally.

For each 180 maximum, nine-dart finish, or victory, Xbox gave away various gaming rewards across the UK.

Littler was excited about merging his passions for darts and gaming: “I’m looking forward to partnering with Xbox and bringing two of my biggest passions together – darts and gaming.”

He added, “I hope I can provide fans with as many rewards as possible through my performances at the PDC World Darts Championship and help them score more with Xbox.”

Xbox Deal Unveiled in Style

The partnership between Littler and Xbox was revealed in a dramatic fashion.

In a video game-inspired announcement, Littler appeared as an asteroid hurtling towards Earth, described as an “otherworldly hero.”

Emerging from green smoke, he took a sip of a drink, nailed a perfect 180, and left everyone watching in awe.

What’s next for Luke Littler? With his continued success and passion for both darts and gaming, there’s no telling what exciting chapter will come next in his remarkable journey.
