Robert Louis Baker, a convicted killer, recently revealed a chilling detail about the murder of Fabio Sementilli, a prominent hair stylist and Wella executive.
In court testimony, Baker admitted to instructing his accomplice to “go for the neck” in an attempt to make the attack swift and as painless as possible.
The shocking revelation came as part of a complex case involving a twisted murder plot.
The Brutal Attack
Fabio Sementilli, 49, was found stabbed seven times on January 23, 2017, on the patio of his upscale Woodland Hills home.
Prosecutors believe the attack was part of a scheme orchestrated by Sementilli’s wife, Monica, and her lover, Baker.
Monica, 53, is accused of conspiring with Baker, a former army staff sergeant and convicted child sex offender, to claim $2.2 million in life insurance policies.
Courtroom Drama and Testimony
During intense cross-examination in a Los Angeles courtroom, Baker attempted to distance Monica from the plot.
He claimed that she had no involvement and that he acted alone out of desire for her.
Prosecutors, however, argued that Monica played a critical role, including guiding Baker to Sementilli’s location using a Vietnamese restaurant address as bait.
Failed Murder Attempt
Before the fatal attack, Baker had tried to kill Sementilli the previous day.
Baker revealed that he had instructed his accomplice, Christopher Austin, to carry out the stabbing.
They tracked Sementilli using a GPS device installed on his Porsche and followed him to a Ventura Boulevard restaurant.
Baker waited for hours outside but mistakenly believed Sementilli had arrived in his black Porsche, when in fact he was driving a different vehicle.
The Deadly Encounter
On the day of the fatal attack, Baker and Austin broke into the Sementilli home.
Baker described being “nervous as hell” when he confronted Sementilli, who grabbed his chest and hand.
In the chaotic struggle, Baker admitted to repeatedly slashing with his knife until Sementilli released his grip.
Contradicting Stories and Memory Gaps
Throughout his testimony, Baker often struggled to recall key details, even admitting that his memory was “so screwed up.”
While he claimed Monica had no role in the murder, prosecutors presented evidence that linked her to the plot, including extensive communication between her and Baker on the day of the planned attack.
Ongoing Trial
Monica Sementilli maintains her innocence, pleading not guilty to charges of murder with special circumstances and conspiracy.
As the trial continues, prosecutors are working to piece together the complex web of events that led to the tragic killing of Fabio Sementilli.
