Lesedi Kapinga and Orlando Pirates Mutually Agree to End Their Association After Brief and Challenging Period Together in South Africa

In a recent development, Orlando Pirates have announced that they are parting ways with midfielder Lesedi Kapinga.

The decision came after a meeting earlier today, leading both sides to agree on an amicable separation.

A Fond Farewell

The club expressed their gratitude in a statement, saying, “On behalf of the extended Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Lesedi for his time at the club and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Kapinga’s Struggles

Kapinga has faced challenges securing regular playtime with Orlando Pirates.

Last season, he managed only two starts and 11 substitute appearances, which highlighted his diminishing role in coach Jose Riveiro’s plans.

Having joined the Buccaneers from Mamelodi Sundowns before last season, Kapinga’s stint didn’t turn out as hoped.

Although there were discussions about a possible loan deal, he now becomes a free agent.

Pirates’ Busy Transfer Window

Orlando Pirates have been active in the transfer market, offloading six players at the start of the window, including Souiabou Marou, Fortune Makaringe, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Kermit Erasmus, Richard Ofori, and Thabang Monare.

Recently, midfielders Azola Matrose and Siphelo Baloni also left for Chippa United.

Upcoming Fixtures

Orlando Pirates are set to continue their season with a match against Chippa United on Wednesday night.

Fans will be eager to see how the team performs as they look to make a strong start.
