Lara Stone, the stunning model and ex-wife of David Walliams, seems to have found her stride with her husband David Grievson, a property developer.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, share a stylish 19th-century Hampstead Heath home with their two-year-old son Bob, as well as Lara’s older son Alfred, 12, from her marriage to Walliams.
Life Together in a Renovated Mansion
The pair have spent the past few years renovating their vintage property, blending charm with modern touches.
Grievson, founder of Coburn, has poured his design expertise into the home.
In a recent interview, he revealed his doting side as a stepfather: “More excitingly, it meant making a Narnia room for Alf, my stepson, in the eaves behind the clothes rail in his bedroom cupboard.
I took the view that Lara and Alf were the most important clients I could ever have.”
He added that working alongside Lara has been rewarding: “I didn’t know how much I’d enjoy doing the project with her or how useful she is as a sounding board. It’s been wonderful.”
The Beginning of Walliams and Stone’s Romance
Lara and Walliams’s whirlwind love story began in 2009 after he took her to a Chelsea football match.
He swept her off her feet with flowers and thoughtful gestures, eventually proposing in Los Angeles in 2010.
Their wedding at Claridge’s Hotel in May 2010 was lavish, with Lara wearing a £30,000 lace-and-satin gown.
Guests reportedly found their choice of Beauty and the Beast for the first dance a little unusual, but it was undeniably memorable.
A Brief Marriage and Swift Divorce
The couple welcomed Alfred in May 2013, but by 2015, the marriage had ended.
The divorce hearing was brief, lasting less than a minute, with Walliams citing Lara’s “unreasonable behaviour.”
Reports at the time suggested that their personalities clashed—Walliams’s intensity and drive contrasted with Lara’s more laid-back nature.
She reportedly took their dog Bert with her after leaving, while Walliams admitted he had considered trying to win her back.
David Walliams Reflects on Fatherhood
Walliams, who has not had a long-term relationship since the split, has opened up about his feelings as a separated parent.
Recently, he released a children’s book, Santa and Son, which explores the emotions of a boy with a grumpy, absent father.
Speaking in New Zealand, he said: “There’s definitely a theme running through about parents, separated parents.
I was thinking about the pain you feel as a parent when you don’t have your child at Christmas.
There’s often a kind of melancholy that creeps in.”
Moving Forward and Embracing New Chapters
While Walliams navigates the complexities of co-parenting and reflecting on parenthood in his writing, Lara Stone has embraced a settled life with Grievson.
Together, they are raising their family in a home filled with creativity, love, and even a little bit of magic in Alf’s Narnia-inspired bedroom.
The couple’s story is one of blending past and present, creating a new chapter while honouring the joys and challenges of family life.
