The viral video of the large convoy sparked mixed reactions on social media.
Reckless Display of Raw Power:
In a statement issued by Mr. Diran Onifade, the head of the Obi-Datti Media Office, the convoy accompanying President Tinubu was described as an “outlandish display of power.”
Onifade criticized Tinubu’s show of raw power during his recent visit to Lagos State, stating that such behavior had not been witnessed from any politician since Nigeria’s inception.

He compared it to the military’s brash display of power and highlighted the recklessness of Tinubu’s actions.
Pointing Out Hypocrisy:
The Obi-Datti Media Office, in solidarity with millions of Nigerians, called out the hypocrisy inherent in Tinubu’s actions.
They highlighted the contradiction between Tinubu’s promise to reduce the cost of governance and his extravagant convoy with numerous security details and aides.
The statement emphasized the need for leaders to lead by example and criticized Tinubu’s “do what I say and not what I do” attitude.
Leadership Must Make Sacrifices:
Former Anambra Governor Peter Obi, when asked for his reaction to the President’s convoy, stressed the importance of leaders leading by example.

Obi emphasized that it is not enough to ask Nigerians to make sacrifices; leaders themselves must visibly make sacrifices, as the people are suffering.
He called for leaders to demonstrate a behavior and public conduct that aligns with the needs of society, stating that leaders must not be the reason for the continued suffering of the citizens.
Conclusion:
The Labour Party’s response to President Tinubu’s convoy highlighted their condemnation of what they deemed an excessive display of power.
They criticized Tinubu’s actions, pointing out the hypocrisy and calling for leaders to lead by example.
Former Governor Peter Obi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for visible sacrifices from leaders to alleviate the suffering of the people.
