After a whirlwind few weeks involving a psychiatric hold, public concern for her well-being, and a rocky split from her longtime husband Scott Wolf, Kelley Wolf has finally stepped out and spoken up.
The 48-year-old life coach and author was seen enjoying a casual evening on Main Street in Park City, Utah, just days after being released from a hospital where she had reportedly been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.
Now, she’s not only breaking her silence—she’s taking back her narrative.
A Mother’s Focus: Reconnecting With Her Kids
In a video obtained by the Daily Mail, Kelley is seen taking a moment on the sidewalk to speak to her three children—Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11—during a phone call.
She calmly told the camera, “I talk to my kids every day, a few times a day,” but also admitted she hadn’t spoken to their father, Scott.
This came days after she took to Instagram to express distress over not knowing where her kids were, saying she was “trying to locate” them.
Scott, 57, had posted a photo of the kids at an airport with the caption: “On the road with my forever squad,” but apparently hadn’t told Kelley about the trip.
She assumed they were heading to Massachusetts for their usual Cape Cod summer getaway.
Despite the confusion, Kelley later said the kids were doing well and sounded “amazing.”
She added, “They’re obviously on a trip with their dad, so that’s fun… I’m taking them on a trip this summer just with me.”
Opening Up About Divorce and Mental Health
Kelley didn’t sugarcoat her thoughts on her split from Scott, saying, “Divorce is a hard, hard thing.
I’ve worked in mental health for 20 years, and I can tell you—it’s rough.”
The couple had been together for 21 years, but cracks had been showing for some time. According to Kelley, she had been trying to file for legal separation for nine months.
Scott officially filed for divorce on June 9, describing the decision as “the most difficult” of his life.
What Really Happened During Her Hospitalization
Kelley’s recent absence from the public eye had many speculating, but details have since emerged.
She was reportedly detained under a 5150 psychiatric hold on June 13 after a female friend called 911, citing a mental health crisis.
Initially, Kelley was taken to a hospital in Provo for 18 hours, where she was kept isolated, without access to her phone or a clock.
She was then transferred by ambulance to another hospital in Salt Lake City, where she stayed for four days in the general psych ward.
A source close to Kelley said she was compliant, stayed in her room, and refused medication such as Xanax.
“Her bloodwork was clean of any drug known to mankind,” the source stated.
She was diagnosed with anxiety and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder.
Kelley reportedly requested to speak with her children and attorney multiple times, but the hospital allegedly denied her those requests.
An Instagram Live Interrupted by Police
Before the sudden hospitalization, Kelley had been preparing for a simple summer day.
She was about to take her daughter and some friends to a pool outing at Sundance Resort and had gone live on Instagram to promote a fragrance brand when, unexpectedly, police arrived and removed her from her home on a stretcher.
This traumatic moment led to her involuntary hold, something Kelley has since spoken about.
“I was held against my will,” she shared on social media, later posting that she believed involuntary psychiatric holds are often misused, especially against women going through trauma or divorce.
Resting, Rebuilding, and Planning Her Next Moves
Kelley is currently recuperating at Montage Deer Valley, a luxury hotel gifted to her by friends.
After battling pneumonia earlier this year and losing 15 pounds, she’s been focusing on rebuilding her health through hiking and rest.
But she’s not slowing down professionally.
She’s working on her second book and is reportedly in talks with Bunim/Murray Productions about a scripted TV show titled The Natural State.
Meanwhile, Scott Wolf Stays Silent
While Kelley has been candid and vocal, Scott Wolf has remained mostly out of sight, apart from a short June 11 statement requesting privacy.
However, the drama surrounding their home has drawn public attention.
Neighbors reported frequent police visits, and just last month, Scott was caught speeding at 128 mph in a 65 mph zone.
In June alone, multiple 911 calls were made from their Park City home, including reports of a trespasser and a choking incident.
One neighbor described the household tensions as “constant,” especially after Scott’s brother temporarily moved in to help care for the kids.
A New Chapter Begins
Kelley Wolf is now focused on healing, spending time with her children, and moving forward.
Although she’s been through emotional turmoil and public scrutiny, she’s not shying away from the truth.
“Divorce is hard,” she said. “But I’m still here. I’m doing what I do best.”
