This weekend, the nation appeared to come to a stop due to the return of one of the most famous festivals, Rocking The Daisies.

Rocking The Daisies began on Friday at its original home in Cape Town’s Cloof Wine Estate and completed last night at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Local bands such as Focalistic, Blxckie, Marcus Harvey, Nasty C, Sun El Musician, and Uncle Waffles were impressive, but the foreign acts were the main attraction.

“To come and observe is one thing; to conquer is another. Yesterday, @kehlani performed for the first time on an African stage. It seems fitting that this stage be there.

@johnniewalkersa Jungle! #JWxRTD is being honored.”

In addition to international headliners Kehlani, Clean Bandit, and Bas, the festival featured Emotional Oranges, Buddy, Lute, and Guapdad411.

Following a two-year break, tens of thousands of fans flocked to see some of their favorite performers.

Cozz, a Dreamville artist signed to J. Cole, documented his experience on Instagram: “Glimpse of last night’s event in Cape Town, South Africa. It was unbelievable!

“Many thanks to @heineken sa @bas @thefiends @oakshades & co. You’ll be seeing clips and pictures of me in the homeland all week, praise God (albeit that’s not my song playing).”

After closing out both gigs, Kehlani performed an after-party set at Johannesburg’s Sumo Nightclub. “After the party tonight in Johannesburg, please join me before I depart!”

Following the difficulties of the DStv Delicious Festival two weeks prior, many were concerned about potential huge queuing and/or payment issues, but everything appeared to go off without a hitch, thanks to effective crowd control and a variety of payment alternatives.

“And in the flash of an eye, two years away from our best friends spent creating a once-in-a-lifetime adventure were over. Thank you for once again showing up and showing out, Cape Town. We cannot wait to party with you again next year, friends. #JWxRTD.”
