Just when Travis Kelce thought he might catch a break after a whirlwind couple of years—balancing football, podcasting, and a headline-grabbing romance with Taylor Swift—the Kansas City Chiefs dropped their 2025 NFL schedule.
And let’s just say, it’s not exactly a dream lineup for a guy who just turned 35 and briefly flirted with retirement.
From long-haul flights to steamy stadiums and back-to-back marquee matchups, Kelce’s year is shaping up to be relentless—and he’s already talking about it.
Chiefs to Open the Season in Brazil—and Kelce’s Not Exactly Thrilled
Kelce gave fans an early peek at his schedule woes on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, where he didn’t hide his frustration about opening the season in São Paulo, Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“This isn’t out until Wednesday? Yeah, we’re definitely playing in Brazil,” he said, sounding less than excited.
“I’ll be there, not to do a podcast. I’ll be playing football in the f***ing heat.”
His brother Jason Kelce, who’s now retired but played in Brazil last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, didn’t make things sound any better.
He bluntly told Travis that the field conditions during their 2024 game against the Packers were “atrocious.”
The Full 2025 Schedule Is Out—and It’s a Beast

Sweltering Heat and Tight Turnarounds Aren’t Helping
It’s not just the jet lag Kelce is dreading—it’s the tropical climate too.
“There’s just something about getting close to the equator,” he joked on the podcast.
“I don’t want to put on a football uniform. I’ve been in Jacksonville in September—that’s f***ing miserable.”
Unfortunately for him, the Chiefs are headed straight for Jacksonville in Week 5… and the timing couldn’t be more inconvenient.
The game falls just a day after Kelce’s birthday. Happy 36th?
One Bright Spot: He’ll Be Home for Taylor Swift’s Birthday
Despite the chaos, there’s one personal silver lining.
On December 14, the Chiefs host the Chargers—just one day after Taylor Swift’s birthday.
So it looks like Kelce will be in Kansas City to celebrate with his superstar girlfriend.
And if that’s not enough, there’s also a Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles coming up just nine days after the Brazil opener. That’ll happen in Week 2, right on home turf.
The Real Grind Kicks In During October and November
Starting in Week 4, things get really intense. The Chiefs take on the always-dangerous Ravens, then hit the road for that steamy Jacksonville matchup.
October ends with a tough home stretch: hosting the Lions, Raiders, and Commanders, all serious contenders.
Then it’s off to Buffalo in early November for what’s expected to be a freezing showdown against the Bills.
Chiefs Will Be on the Big Stage—A Lot
If you’re hoping to catch Kansas City in action, good news: they’ll be in eight standalone games and seven primetime slots this season.
That includes a pair of holiday fixtures—one in Dallas for Thanksgiving Day and another at Arrowhead on Christmas Day against division rivals the Denver Broncos.
A Quieter Offseason for Kelce and Swift—But Still in the Spotlight
Since their heartbreaking Super Bowl LIX loss to the Eagles, Kelce has kept things a bit more low-key.
He’s still showing up on New Heights, but fans haven’t seen him hopping between countries on the Eras Tour like last year.
That said, the couple hasn’t completely vanished.
Just last weekend, they were spotted dining at Talula’s Garden in Philadelphia for a cozy Mother’s Day meal—joined by Jason and Kylie Kelce and their mom, Donna.
Next Stop: Hollywood and a Glitzy Gala
Before the grind begins, Kelce is squeezing in one more high-profile event.
He’s set to appear at a celebrity-filled charity gala in Hollywood, rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment.
One More Season—At Least
Despite all the wear and tear, Kelce made it clear earlier this year that he’s not ready to walk away just yet.
After considering retirement in February, he ultimately decided to return—not wanting his decorated career to end on the sour note of a Super Bowl loss.
So now, with a brutal schedule in front of him and the spotlight never far behind, Travis Kelce is gearing up for what could be his most demanding season yet.
