Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi addresses team’s struggles this season and calls for patience from fans in South Africa

This season has been a tough one for Kaizer Chiefs and their head coach, Nasreddine Nabi. With only eight wins in 23 league matches, it’s clear the team has faced challenges.

Nabi, in his first year coaching in South Africa, has been reflecting on the issues that have plagued his squad and shared his thoughts with the public.

Nasreddine Nabi Calls for Patience Amid Struggles

Nabi is aware of the frustrations among fans, but he is urging everyone to remain patient.

He believes the key to overcoming the team’s issues lies in taking a more measured approach.

“It’s a problem for the team; I think we need patience with the players. We need patience, not panic,” he said, according to KickOff.

Despite the tough start, Nabi insists that the team’s foundation is solid, and it’s the small, critical decisions that have been holding them back.

The Issue with Solomons and Team Struggles

A particular point of contention has been Solomons, who has been deployed in positions he is not accustomed to.

Nabi clarified that the issue isn’t with Solomons himself but with how he’s been utilized.

“Solomons is not a winger, and he is not a striker; he is a right-back.

The problem is not Solomons,” Nabi explained, further emphasizing that certain tactical decisions have not been ideal.

Despite these issues, Nabi has taken full responsibility for the team’s recent back-to-back losses.

He pointed to the matches against Arrows and Richards Bay as examples of where the team’s performance could have been better.

Taking Responsibility and Looking Ahead

“I take responsibility; I don’t give the responsibility away,” Nabi said.

He recognizes that change is needed but insists that patience is key.

He also stressed that the team needs more players who can maintain a high level of energy throughout the game, especially when substitutions are made.

“To change the situation, we need two things. The first is patience.

We need patience. Secondly, we need more players with the engine,” Nabi added.

This highlights his belief that having fresh legs and the ability to switch positions when necessary could be vital to improving their performance.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Missed Opportunities and the Road Ahead

Nabi isn’t overly concerned about the team’s overall play; in fact, he believes that Kaizer Chiefs have been playing well.

The main issue, according to him, is their inability to convert chances into goals.

“We complicate the game for ourselves because we lose the opportunities to score,” he said.

As for whether Nabi will continue as the head coach beyond this season, that remains to be seen.

With the growing impatience among fans, only time will tell if Nabi’s vision and patience will bear fruit for Kaizer Chiefs.
