Thabo Cele, the 28-year-old midfielder from Durban, has been no stranger to speculation regarding his potential move to Kaizer Chiefs.
The talented player has been linked with the Soweto giants multiple times over the past few years.
In 2021, Cele was poised to leave Benfica B and join Amakhosi, but instead, he opted for a move to Cova Piedade in Portugal.
After stints with Radomiak in Poland and Fakel Voronezh in Russia, Cele is now a free agent.
Recently, Fakel Voronezh announced that Cele’s contract was terminated due to serious family health issues, and he can now only play for teams in South Africa until his contract expires.
Bobby Motaung: Should He Lead Kaizer Chiefs?
Siboniso Gaxa, a former Kaizer Chiefs full-back, has stirred up some conversation about the leadership at the club.
Speaking on Robert Mawara’s SportsWorldWide show on 947, Gaxa expressed his belief that Bobby Motaung, the club’s Football Manager, should take on a larger role in the management of the team.
He suggested that Bobby should replace his brother, Kaizer Motaung Jr., as the club’s Sporting Director.
According to Gaxa, this leadership change could be the key to Kaizer Chiefs regaining their former glory.
He said, “I always think that Bobby should be given full responsibility, not half, but full responsibility to run the club. Bobby is an exceptionally incredible man.
It’s unfortunate that people who don’t understand him, don’t know him.”
Gaxa added that if Bobby and Marketing Director Jessica Motaung were given full control, they could bring about significant positive changes for the club.
The Future of Kaizer Chiefs
As the discussion continues about Kaizer Chiefs’ future leadership, it’s clear that Gaxa’s comments have ignited a debate on how best to steer the club back to success.
Would the Motaung siblings be able to take Kaizer Chiefs to the next level, or is there more to the story?
