Kaizer Chiefs blow chance to cut gap to Mamelodi Sundowns

Fact Checked by TDPel News Desk

Kaizer Chiefs lost at home to Golden Arrows on Saturday, missing out on the opportunity of cutting the points gap to log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi went down 1-0 at the FNB Stadium thanks to a fifth-minute goal from Knox Mutizwa.

As a result, the Soweto giants remained in third place in the standings, 16 points behind Masandawana with three matches in hand.

Kaizer Chiefs were granted a DStv Premiership lifeline on Friday when they won an arbitration ruling regarding the two matches last December that they failed to show up for after an outbreak of Covid-19 at Naturena.

However, they failed to capitalise on that ‘win’ by losing to Golden Arrows.

The Glamour Boys will next be in action away to Chippa United on Saturday, 2 April at 17:00 – unless one of those two matches against Cape Town City FC and, coincidently, Golden Arrows, are scheduled prior to their trip to face the Chilli Boys.
