Kaizer Chiefs new coach Arthur Zwane reveals massive African ambitions

So Arthur Zwane is in command of the Kaizer Chiefs at least until the end of the season. The reaction on social media indicated that the verdict was exactly what millions of followers had hoped for.

Following Stuart Baxter’s departure last week, Zwane and Dillon Sheppard took over as interim head coach.

Last Saturday, the duo suffered a tight 1-0 defeat away to Stellenbosch FC. But, now that Baxter has left, what can be anticipated to change?

Playing identity, according to Zwane, is the most important goal to achieve, but it will take some time.

“Any change will cause some disruption because, first and foremost, we are attempting to modify the style of play,” Zwane stated, according to Kick Off.

“Second, it will have an impact on individuals. Either they will adapt to the way we want to play as a club, or we must establish an identity in which players must fit into our system and understand what is expected of them when we go out to recruit.”

KAIZER CHIEFS WANT TO CONQUER AFRICA

The former winger, who was nicknamed as “10111,” went on to say that the Glamour Boys are chasing a big African dream.

“It may take some time, but we’re hopeful that by next season, we’ll be ready to compete with the best, since that’s what we’re aiming for right now.” Yes, we want the results, and we’re desperate to return to Africa,” Zwane continued.

“We got a taste of that greatness [last season], so we want to go back and dominate the African continent and be one of the finest teams on the continent,” the Soweto native ended.
