It’s another home run for Justin Verlander and Kate Upton—the power couple has just welcomed baby number two! According to reports, the supermodel and the MLB star are now proud parents of a baby boy named Bellamy Brooks Verlander, who arrived on June 19.
And it seems Verlander didn’t waste any time shifting from the pitcher’s mound to dad duty.
Justin Steps Away to Focus on Family
Just a day after Bellamy’s birth, Verlander was placed on paternity leave by the San Francisco Giants so he could spend quality time with his wife and newborn son.
At 42, the two-time World Series champion is now balancing big-league pitching with late-night feedings and baby snuggles.
From Vogue Covers to Diapers and Dugouts
Kate Upton, 33, is no stranger to the spotlight herself.
Known for her glamorous modeling career and cover shoots for Vogue and Sports Illustrated, she’s also been fiercely supportive of Verlander’s baseball career from the start.
The couple first met back in 2012, and after a few years of dating, they got engaged in 2016.
Their wedding took place in 2017—just days after Verlander helped the Astros win the World Series. Talk about a whirlwind week!
Big Sister Vivi Now Has a Little Teammate
Verlander and Upton’s first child, Genevieve ‘Vivi’ Upton Verlander, was born in November 2018, just three days after the couple celebrated their first anniversary.
Now six years old, Vivi is already pretty aware that her dad’s a big deal on the baseball field.
In a 2023 interview, Upton shared that their daughter understands Verlander’s career.
“She knows that he’s a baseball player now,” she said.
“She goes to school part time in Houston, so she definitely knows that he plays baseball now.”
A Family Balancing Fame and Parenthood
Whether it’s championship rings or bedtime routines, Verlander and Upton continue to prove they’re a team in every sense of the word.
With their growing family now including two little ones, they’re entering a new chapter filled with even more milestones—and probably a lot less sleep.
More updates are expected soon as fans and followers send love and congratulations to one of sports and Hollywood’s favorite couples.
