Jude Bellingham backs Real Madrid teammates to overcome poor run of form after home defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu

Jude Bellingham has stepped up to defend both himself and his Real Madrid teammates following a tough couple of weeks for the Spanish giants.

After a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday, the 22-year-old midfielder was clear-eyed about the challenges but bullish about the team’s ability to turn things around.

Two Home Defeats in Days Shake Confidence

The Santiago Bernabeu hosted a tense clash against City, but it was only the latest stumble for Los Blancos.

Just days earlier, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo in LaLiga, compounded by being reduced to 10 men.

Since their victory over Valencia on November 1, Real Madrid have managed only two wins in eight matches, picking up three draws and three losses along the way.

Support for Xabi Alonso Remains Strong

The slump has sparked whispers of pressure on manager Xabi Alonso, with some Spanish reports suggesting friction with star players like Vinicius Jr.

But Bellingham was unwavering in his backing of the Spaniard.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said, “One hundred per cent.

The manager has been great. I personally have a great relationship with him and I know a lot of the lads do too.”

He added that the players have reflected on their performances and are determined to move forward.

“After that first run of games where we drew a few, we had really great conversations internally and felt we’d put that form behind us.

The last couple of games, we’ve let ourselves down again, but no one is downing tools or moaning. No one thinks the season is over.”

Taking the Hits and Moving Forward

Bellingham didn’t shy away from being candid about the team’s struggles.

“We’ll have to take a bit of the s*** on the chin, keep fighting and bouncing forward,” he admitted, prompting presenter Laura Woods to apologize for the language at the end of the interview.

When asked why the team’s form has dipped, he highlighted the difficulties they face during matches.

“Certain points where we have to suffer, it feels like we always concede.

It puts us on the back foot and makes us have to play a way we don’t want to.”

Faith in the Squad and the Season

Despite the setbacks, Bellingham emphasized confidence in his teammates and their internal discussions.

“In the changing room, we have what we need to turn it around.

Maybe we need a bit of luck or a discussion internally.

I have faith this season isn’t over just because we’re in a bad run of form.”

Looking Ahead to Alaves

Bellingham will hope his words translate into action when Real Madrid travel to Alaves in LaLiga on Sunday night.

With internal morale still strong and the squad backing their manager, the team will aim to halt their slump and regain momentum in both domestic and European competitions.
