Jubilee party ends as though it never happened!

Following a fantastic extended weekend commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Brits were jolted back to reality on Monday morning.

The Mall in London, which hosted tens of thousands of people every day over the weekend, has almost no signs of the joyous celebrations.

The lengthy road leading to Buckingham Palace is still adorned with Union Jack flags and a few barriers, but there is little indication of yesterday’s spectacular march.

Similarly, the reasonably dry weather of the bank holiday weekend has vanished, with drizzle and cloud expected across much of the UK today, with the possibility of considerably worse conditions later in the week.

Many people expressed their desire for a bank holiday Monday instead of the previous week’s bank holiday Thursday on social media.

Commuters in London went to work to the pandemonium of a tube strike, with thousands of London Underground workers taking part in a day of action over job and pension issues.
