Jhb City Power says power will be restored in Eldorado Park by Wednesday

Johannesburg City Power says it hopes electricity will be restored to Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg, by Wednesday.

This follows a fire that gutted a substation on Friday morning leaving residents without power.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says,” The work to do repairs at Eldos sub station is going as planned, even though there is this rain that is disrupting the work that we are supposed to do. But we are still on track to ensure that power is restored to those affected by this fire by Wednesday the latest. However, we are experiencing several instances of cable theft and vandalism of the electricity network in and around the fire, including Ennerdale, Lawley, Nancefield substation where five cables were stolen.”
