The actress, 66, took to Instagram on Thursday to announce her contribution, alongside her efforts to collaborate with local authorities to ensure the funds are used effectively.

In an emotional post, Curtis shared her deep concern for the city she calls home, revealing that while her own home was safe, many of her neighbors had lost everything.
“It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California,” Curtis said, fighting back tears.

“This is the church where I got sober 25 years ago,” she wrote, describing the church as a place of solace for many.
Curtis also reflected on the many lives that were impacted by the church, which had been a place for baptisms, weddings, and funerals, as well as for those seeking help with sobriety.
