A gas engineer who admitted to sexual assault after hitting a lady on the bottom during a 14-hour drinking spree was put on the sex offenders list for five years.

On May 7, this year, an incident happened on the dance floor of the Yates in Newcastle Under Lyme.

Jake Fallon, 30, informed police that he had been drinking since 8am before the event.

Fallon was accused of continuously approaching a lady, touching her bottom, and’smirking’ when she requested him to stop, according to the North Staffordshire Justice Centre.

The woman had been out all night with her buddy, according to prosecutor Emily Pybus, when she felt a sharp slap on her behind.

She turned back and saw a guy she didn’t recognise behind her. She said, “No.” Ms. Pybus said that he grinned at her.

After turning away once again and continuing to dance, the victim felt his hand touch her bottom once more a short while later.

She yelled at Fallon to “leave [her] alone” once again, but he continued to smile at her while denying any wrongdoing.

A short while later, she felt two hands around her. She seized his hands before turning furiously around and telling him to “f*** off.” The court heard her say, “I told you previously, have some respect.”

Security received a complaint from the victim about the occurrence, but nothing happened.

She went back to the dance floor and kept dancing, according to Ms. Pybus.

Once again, two hands caught hold of her hips. When she turned around, he was holding someone else in his arms.

She informed him his behaviours weren’t acceptable and begged him to back off. It’s individuals like you that take advantage of ladies, she said.

The defendant and a few other males got into a scuffle, and the police were summoned. She informed them of the situation. The accused was detained.

Fallon claimed to have been drinking nonstop all day during his police interview. He acknowledged making inappropriate sexual approaches toward the victim.

He claimed to have been drinking since 8 am and was really inebriated.

He could only apologise after seeing the video of his acts in embarrassment.

He acknowledged that touching her bottom was wrong but said that he was only having a little fun.

Fallon, of Linley Road in Hartshill, entered a guilty plea to rape.

The defendant went out early and began drinking, according to Numann Haque, who was acting as a witness.

The idea wasn’t to drink as much as he did, he said.

He was unaware that he had spoken with her as often as reported. He feels so humiliated.

He feels terrible sympathy for the victim. He is aware that it was out of sequence. He won’t do it again since he hasn’t done it before.

He said that the defendant, a gas engineer, usually only drinks with friends. It was a singular episode, which he regrets, Mr. Haque said.

Fallon must perform 140 hours of unpaid labour as well as a 30-day rehabilitative activity requirement as part of the community order.

He was sentenced to pay £185 in costs, £95 in surcharge, and £100 in compensation to his victim.
