Jacques Kallis and Faf du Plessis, two Proteas greats, have offered their predictions for the Proteas’ performance at the 2018 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Although the Proteas have low hopes for the event in India, they do have a good mix of young and seasoned players to choose from.
South African cricketer Kallis, who participated in five World Cups for his country, advised the Proteas to stick to their style of play.

“We have a track record of playing solid cricket before World Cups.

“I believe that players desired too much, and you’ve strayed from what you should be doing.
The former Proteas all-rounder speculated that they may have strayed from their positions because they sought too much.
Temba Bavuma and his side would face a problem adjusting to the circumstances in the sub-continent, according to former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis.
Du Plessis declared that South Africa’s white-ball team was in good shape.
Du Plessis cites Australia and India as favourites.
“They are going into that World Cup with some serious experience.”
The former Proteas skipper stated, “The challenge for any teams that are not from the subcontinent is obviously always the challenge of travelling to the subcontinent.
India and Australia, according to Du Plessis, are the tournament favourites.
On October 7, the Proteas take on Sri Lanka in their World Cup opener.
Prior to the World Cup, Rabada claimed that the Proteas were oblivious to the noise.
