Jackson issues emotional apology after Chelsea forward receives second red card during Club World Cup clash with Flamengo

Sometimes a fresh start sounds tempting—especially when things keep going sideways.

That might just be the case for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who’s now caught between disciplinary setbacks and growing transfer rumours.

After another red card incident and increasing pressure from a new arrival at Stamford Bridge, Jackson’s future in London is starting to look uncertain.

A Rough Run and a Costly Red

Things haven’t been smooth for the 24-year-old Senegalese forward.

Jackson was already suspended from domestic football due to a red card in Chelsea’s May 11 Premier League clash with Newcastle.

But on Friday, he made things even worse.

Subbed in during the FIFA Club World Cup match against Flamengo, Jackson lasted just four minutes before being shown a straight red.

His studs-up challenge on Ayrton Lucas left little room for debate.

Chelsea went on to lose 3-1—and Jackson’s frustration clearly boiled over.

The Public Apology

After the match, a remorseful Jackson posted on Instagram, addressing the incident head-on.

“I want to say sorry—to the club, the staff, my teammates, and the fans.

I let you down,” he wrote.

He admitted being angry at himself and took full responsibility, adding, “It wasn’t intentional.

Just one of those moments that went wrong.”

His promise? To reflect, grow, and come back stronger.

But that comeback might not happen at Chelsea.

Juve Makes a Move

Reports from Sky Italia suggest Jackson has been approached by Juventus.

The Italian giants are reportedly monitoring the striker’s situation, possibly offering him an escape route from a difficult run at Stamford Bridge.

Though Napoli have also shown some interest, they’re said to be focusing more heavily on targets like Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez and Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca for now.

A New Rival Up Front

Jackson’s spot at Chelsea is under more pressure than ever.

The club recently signed Liam Delap from Ipswich for £30 million, and manager Enzo Maresca didn’t hesitate to throw him into the mix.

When asked why Jackson was benched for the Flamengo game, Maresca explained, “They’re both very good.

We decide game by game.

It’s about what works best for the team.”

He added that Delap still needs time to adjust to Chelsea’s playing style but expressed full confidence in the young striker’s potential.

What’s Next for Jackson?

With disciplinary issues stacking up, competition intensifying, and interest from Europe’s elite clubs growing, Jackson may be heading into a turning point.

A move to Juventus could offer him a clean slate—and maybe a little less pressure to perform under the spotlight.

For now, though, he’ll need to serve his suspensions, keep his head down, and prove to fans—and perhaps scouts—that he can be the player Chelsea hoped he would be.
