A horrific terror attack on Friday night in Moscow claimed the lives of more than 140 concertgoers.
The Islamic State (ISIS) terror group has proudly taken responsibility for the bloodshed.
ISIS-K Terrorists Unleash Violence
The assault was carried out by a four-man ISIS-K cell, a particularly violent offshoot of the main terror group.
These attackers arrived at the Crocus City Hall venue shortly before the scheduled performance of Russian rock band Picnic and began their rampage.
Concertgoers Caught Off Guard
The attack unfolded with shocking speed.
Witnesses reported that the gunmen, armed with Kalashnikovs, entered the venue just before 8 pm and opened fire on those gathered in the lobby.
Panic erupted as concertgoers sought cover and desperately searched for exits.
Escalating Chaos and Fire
As the attack progressed, the terrorists continued their assault, firing indiscriminately into the crowd and setting fire to the concert hall.
Social media footage showed the devastating consequences, with bodies falling and flames engulfing the building.
Survivors Describe Frenzied Escape
Concertgoer Dave Primov, who managed to escape, recounted the harrowing experience.
He described the gunmen targeting the front rows and the ensuing chaos as people scrambled for safety.
After seeking refuge in nearby utility rooms, he witnessed explosions and the relentless spread of the fire.
Death Toll Expected to Rise
Emergency services arrived on the scene and began tending to the injured.
Investigators are conducting a meticulous search of the charred wreckage, with concerns that the death toll may still rise.
Reports suggest some victims perished from gunshot wounds while others succumbed to the flames.
Authorities confirmed that some bodies were found huddled together in a restroom and on a staircase.
ISIS-K Confirmed as Culprit, US Denies Ukrainian Involvement
US intelligence officials have confirmed ISIS-K’s role in the attack.
The US has also firmly refuted claims made by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Ukraine played a part in the incident.
