The missile, identified as a Fateh-110 ballistic system, was launched toward Kuwaiti territory over the weekend and intercepted by local air defense systems before reaching its intended target.

Kuwaiti defense systems successfully neutralized the incoming threat, but fragments from the destroyed missile fell onto Ali Al Salem Air Base, a site that hosts both U.S. troops and contractors.
