Disappointment for PDP’s Jandor as Supreme Court Affirms Sanwo-Olu’s Election Victory in Lagos State, Urges Supporters to Embrace Verdict

Supreme Court Affirms Sanwo-Olu’s Election, Disappointing PDP’s Jandor

The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Abdulaziz ‘Jandor’ Adediran, has expressed disappointment following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory.

The apex court, aligning with earlier rulings by the Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal, dismissed the appeal filed by Jandor and the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, citing a lack of merit.

Jandor Voices Disappointment and Congratulates Sanwo-Olu

Reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision, Jandor released a statement on Friday in Lagos expressing his disappointment with the outcome.

Despite his reservations about the election’s conduct and result, the PDP candidate extended congratulations to Governor Sanwo-Olu.

In his message, Jandor wished the governor a tenure marked by peace, development, and a people-focused approach to governance.

Urging Supporters to Embrace the Verdict and Love for Lagos State

While acknowledging the disappointment felt by his supporters, Jandor urged them not to let it overshadow their love for Lagos state.

He emphasized that the court’s verdict would not deter him from contributing to the state’s development. Encouraging a positive outlook, Jandor stressed the need for the declared winner, Sanwo-Olu, to govern based on his vision for the state’s development.

He called on the electorate to be the judge of the government’s performance in the coming tenure.
