Abia State Governor Condoles with the People of Oyo State on the Death of the Alaffin

On the demise of renowned Royal Father and Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has issued a message of condolence to Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Oyo State. He was 83 years old when he died.

Governor Ikpeazu hailed the Late Monarch as one of Nigeria’s longest-serving first traditional monarchs, having reigned for 52 years and been identified with the Yoruba tradition’s essential ideals.

“The Late Oba was a man of peace who believed in peaceful coexistence with other Royal Fathers from different sections of the country.”

As a result, his death has plunged the entire Oyo Kingdom, the people of Oyo State, and indeed the country’s entire traditional institution into mourning.”

The Governor emphasized that the Late Oba had a full and long life, and he urged the Governor and the good people of Oyo State to be grateful to God and proud of the late Alaafin’s great legacies.

Governor Ikpeazu, on behalf of the Government and People of Abia State, expresses his heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of Oyo State, as well as prayers for the late Oba’s soul to rest in peace.
