On the heels of his previously released hit song, “Body Riddim,” which was inspired by the voluptuous appearance and allure of Kenyan attorney and content creator Corazon Kwamboka, Afrobeat superstar Icezy delivers yet another exciting Afro-influenced tune titled “Holy Water.”

Icezy (born Isaac Akanno) is a multitalented singer/songwriter signed to Pixy Entertainment who is enthusiastic about music and spreading the rich African rhythm via unique sounds and inspirational messages. Icezy rose to prominence when his version of the iconic Afrobeat song “Finesse” by Pheelz feat. BNXN went viral, showcasing his vocal power, musical range, and originality.

The slow-whine beat of “Holy Water,” complemented by the effects of the guitar’s calming strings and low-key piano chords, reveals Icezy’s intention to provide listeners with a traditional rhythm while simultaneously eulogising his crush. This tune portrays Icezy’s struggle, having fallen in love with a beautiful beauty to whom he wants to proclaim his love but yet want to remain “holy,” a circumstance to which many listeners may empathise.

Sharing the inspiration behind this Dokashot-produced banger, he said:\s“Holy Water was inspired by the affection I had for a melanin lady I met during my stay in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Whenever I reminisce about how I felt in the few encounters I had with her, I still get goosebumps, and so I decided to “shoot my shot” with this song”.

“Holy Water” is an essential addition to any Afrobeat playlist. Listen to it below. “Holy Water” is now available on all streaming platforms.
