Former Speaker Ayuba Abok was impeached last Thursday, and Plateau Governor Simon Lalong has denied any involvement.

Lalong addressed the rumor that he was responsible for the former Speaker’s impeachment, which was circulating on social media and elsewhere.

At the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria’s annual thanksgiving ceremony, Lalong was replying to a submission from Prophet Isa El-Buba, a Jos-based priest (PFN).

El-Buba had challenged the Governor to restore stability in the Assembly after the impeachment saga.

Abok was replaced with Yakubu Sanda in very controversial circumstances.

Lalong said: “The House of Assembly is an autonomous body that runs its affairs independently.
