Hugo Broos warns Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng about making the wrong career move amid European interest

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has issued a word of caution to rising Orlando Pirates sensation Relebohile Mofokeng as speculation about his next move intensifies.

With top clubs reportedly circling, Broos wants the young star to make the right decision for his future.

The Big Decision Facing Mofokeng

Speaking to iDiskiTimes, Broos expressed his concerns about Mofokeng possibly choosing the wrong destination if he leaves Orlando Pirates.

With clubs like Barcelona and Rangers reportedly interested, the national team coach fears the young talent might move to a club where he won’t get enough playing time.

“I just hope that he makes the right decisions.

And that he is not going to a team where he won’t play,” Broos emphasized.

While financial offers might be tempting, the Bafana Bafana boss insists that Mofokeng’s priority should be a club where he can continue developing as a player.

“I see all the things around, Barcelona and Rangers and… (sighs) I’m a little bit afraid.

I just hope that the people around him make the choice of the best sporting solution and not the best financial solution.”

A Crucial Turning Point in His Career

Broos acknowledged that Mofokeng’s family likely has his best interests at heart but also hinted at the influence of other parties who might prioritize financial gain over the player’s long-term development.

“Okay, I think his parents want the best for him, that’s for sure.

But there is another guy who wants to win a lot of money also, but that’s the problem.

But ok, let’s hope, maybe I talked too soon about that.”

The coach firmly believes that Mofokeng will no longer be an Orlando Pirates player by June. However, he stressed that choosing the right club will be crucial for the youngster’s growth.

Orlando Pirates Gearing Up for a Massive Clash Against Sundowns

While Mofokeng’s future remains a hot topic, Orlando Pirates must stay focused on their biggest test of the season—an upcoming league clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers head into the game in excellent form after securing a 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United.

Deon Hotto and Makhehlene Makhaula found the net, with Hotto also providing an assist.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns continued their dominance with a 3-0 win over SuperSport United, thanks to Jayden Adams and a Tashreeq Matthews brace.

The high-stakes showdown takes place on Saturday, 08 February, with kickoff at 15:30.

Pirates currently trail Sundowns by six points but have a game in hand, making this clash even more significant.
