How to avoid common travels and vacation scams

If you intend to ‘never get scammed you’ll find this article very helpful. Now, for the most, a taxi might try to scam so try not to look like a tourist.

Other money scams

Do your research: Typically there should be information online about that thing, service, or product you are trying to book; cost and description. But If it’s too cheap, it’s probably too good to be true. For example, if you are planning to buy a Burmese ruby for next to nothing, you’ll probably get scammed – do your research and you’ll lower your exposure.

Don’t let them rush you: Unless you are booking something like a boat tour that’s leaving in literally 5 min, there is no need for someone to rush you. If the price is fair and they are a good company, the deal will be available at least for 1 hr.

That should be enough time to do a little research if you aren’t already. You’d be surprised how much the price drops atimes when you just ask for a bit of time. But, if it drops too much, be wary.

Keep to yourself: Don’t be too trusting but don’t be rude or ignorant. Also, keep your hands where they can keep everything safe.

Lastly, use common sense, if anything looks too good to be true, then it is too good to be true.
