A tragic case in Houston culminated in a 40-year prison sentence for Erika Miranda-Alvarez, 35, who admitted to murdering her friend, Carolina Flores, 33, in a gruesome scheme to abduct Flores’ six-week-old baby.

Miranda-Alvarez and Flores had been friends for several years, sharing the experience of being pregnant simultaneously.
