The Daily Mail can reveal that Homer Laffoon, 23-year-old son of the late Anne Heche, is at the center of a family storm after it emerged he has a toddler with a woman nearly twice his age.
The child’s mother, 43-year-old Jessica Lamberto, claims Laffoon has largely ignored their son Rocco, now 2, and failed to step up with support.
According to court papers obtained by the Daily Mail, Riverside County has sued Laffoon for child support, requesting $1,013 per month starting this December.
Laffoon has not responded to requests for comment.
How the Relationship Began
Lamberto shared the story of how she met Homer online in 2020.
They hung out a few times but lost contact during the pandemic.
After the tragic death of Anne Heche in 2022, Lamberto reached out to offer condolences, which reignited their connection.
What started as casual texting eventually became a brief romantic relationship, leading to her pregnancy.
“It came as a total shock,” Lamberto told the Daily Mail.
“I was hesitant to tell him at first because he was already dealing with his mom’s estate, but eventually I did.”
A Pattern of Broken Promises
Lamberto says that once she told Laffoon she was pregnant, he initially showed concern but quickly pulled away.
Weeks of silence followed, and he repeatedly told her he didn’t want to be involved in the pregnancy or child’s life.
She explained, “His exact words were, ‘I have no intention of being in your life or the child’s life if you decide to go through with this.’”
Even when the baby was born in October 2023, Laffoon did not attend the hospital.
He also reportedly refused to sign Rocco’s birth certificate and has seen him only a handful of times in two years, with the past seven months being completely silent.
Family Tensions and Court Action
Lamberto says Homer’s father, Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, and stepmother Alexi only learned about the pregnancy when Lamberto’s parents informed them.
The situation escalated when Riverside County intervened, pushing for child support.
“This made things very tense,” Lamberto said.
“They were worried about appearances and being labeled deadbeat parents, but it’s not fair to Rocco. He deserves his father.”
A Mother’s Plea
Lamberto emphasized that her goal in going public is not to cause more conflict but to push Homer toward taking responsibility.
“All I want is for Rocco to have his dad in his life,” she said.
“It doesn’t matter if we like each other, it doesn’t matter if I’m involved.
Just be a dad. That’s all I want.”
The Broader Family Story
The Laffoon family has been navigating a turbulent few years.
Homer and his younger brother Atlas, 16, have been managing the fallout from Anne Heche’s estate, which is embroiled in lawsuits over her fatal crash in Mar Vista in 2022.
Amid probate battles and family grief, Homer’s own parenthood struggles have now added another layer of complexity.
Looking Ahead for Rocco
For now, Rocco is growing up largely under his mother’s care, learning about his dad and extended family gradually.
Lamberto hopes that sharing their story publicly might motivate Homer to be a more present parent and ensure his son grows up with the love and guidance he deserves.
