Hilaria Baldwin has revealed she earned $95,000 for selling the first public photos of her eldest daughter, Carmen.
Speaking on The Viall Files, the 41-year-old fitness influencer explained her approach to the tricky balance between privacy and paparazzi attention.
Alongside husband Alec Baldwin, 67, Hilaria is raising seven children: Carmen, 12; Rafael, nine; Leonardo, eight; Romeo, six; Eduardo, four; Maria, three; and Ilaria, two.
Changing Views on Celebrity Privacy
Hilaria reflected on the early days of celebrity parenting, when hiding her children from photographers seemed like the natural choice.
“I found that the more I did that, the more paparazzi there were,” she said.
At the time, public curiosity around celebrity kids was intense, and Hilaria decided to sell photos of her first few children — with a twist.
“All the money I made, I donated,” she explained.
The funds from Carmen’s photos went to a charity in Mallorca supporting children who had been sexually abused, where her family has lived since 2011.
The Logic Behind Selling Photos
Hilaria described her mindset as practical and ethical.
“Somebody’s going to make money off of this,” she said.
“Whether it’s someone chasing me down the street or this system, there’s money to be had, and I’m going to put it in a good place.”
While she occasionally sold early photos, the practice faded as her family grew.
“As I had more children, the business changed.
I just started posting on Instagram instead, and it reduced the attention from paparazzi,” she noted.
Learning From the More Famous
She also credited advice from a celebrity friend who taught her that “the more you put the photo up yourself, the lower the bounty and the less harassment you get.”
This approach allowed her to control her children’s visibility while protecting their privacy.
A Painting Sparks Social Media Buzz
Hilaria’s candidness comes amid renewed attention to a massive painting of her that hangs in her Hamptons home.
Created by artist Brendan O’Connell, the painting was inspired by a paparazzi photo of her grocery shopping.
“I’m extraordinarily embarrassed,” Hilaria admitted to the New York Times.
“It’s like: ‘Welcome to my living room.
Here is a painting of me.’” Social media commenters had a field day when Alec reposted images of the room, with reactions ranging from amusement to disbelief at the home decor choice.
The Hamptons Estate Hits the Market Again
Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin has relisted the couple’s Hamptons mansion for $21 million.
The 10,000-square-foot estate in Amagansett, New York, features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool, spa, and multiple covered balconies across 10 sprawling acres.
The actor first bought the property in 1996 for $1.75 million.
After a series of price changes, including a $29 million listing in 2022 and subsequent reductions, the home is back on the market at $21 million.
From Private Photos to Public Homes
From carefully navigating the sale of her children’s first photos for charity to enduring social media scrutiny over her personal artwork and family estate, Hilaria Baldwin has remained both strategic and open about life in the spotlight.
Her story highlights the evolving challenges of celebrity parenting, social media, and public perception.
