As he returned to the Madison Square Garden stage on Wednesday evening, Harry Styles made light of the Chris Pine spit-gate scandal.
Video footage of the “As It Was” singer and his “Don’t Worry Darling” co-star at the premiere of their film at the Venice Film Festival went viral over the weekend, with many thinking that Styles spat on Pine.
However, a representative for the latter actor has subsequently denied online allegations that the 28-year-old actor spat on his 42-year-old co-star before the screening.
The representative stated to Variety: “This report is ludicrous; it is a pure fabrication and the consequence of an unusual web illusion that is obviously deceptive and encourages dumb conjecture.

The clip sparked rumors of a breach between the two parties.
However, a representative for Pines verified that they have “nothing but respect” for one another and that the rumor was far-fetched.
The spokesperson continued, “There is nothing but mutual respect between these two men, and any insinuation to the contrary is a shameless attempt to manufacture drama where none exists.”
As he celebrated his tenth gig at the New York City venue, “Late Night Talking” singer Styles laughed about the spitting incident.
He informed the crowd, “This is our tenth performance at Madison Square Garden, and it is fantastic, fantastic, fantastic to be back.
“I just spit on Chris Pine in Venice, but have no fear, we’re back!”
Pines and Styles co-star in the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry, Darling” alongside Florence Pugh, Gemma Chan, and Olivia Wilde, who also directed the film.
And Styles, who began dating Wilde in 2021, recently lavished the filmmaker with admiration.
He said: “Olivia is a highly focused director. She articulated her expectations for the cast with clarity and deference.
I believe that her journey from acting to directing has made her a director who can bring out the best in everyone.
