Royal Attendance at Invictus Games Volleyball Final
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were once again greeted with a warm reception, akin to rock stars, as they took their seats in the Centre Court stand to witness the sitting volleyball final between Poland and Colombia.
Despite a busy day of engagements and multiple outfit changes, the couple appeared relaxed and joyful.
Multiple Outfit Changes
Meghan Markle, in particular, showcased her fashion versatility by donning three different outfits throughout the day.
Her first ensemble featured a light buttoned jumpsuit paired with a cream blazer, which she complemented with loose waves and glamorous makeup.
For the Team Canada Reception at the Hilton Hotel, she switched to a long grey dress. Her final outfit for the volleyball final was a navy shirt dress.
Celebratory Beer with Veteran’s Minister Johnny Mercer
During the exciting volleyball match, Prince Harry and Meghan enjoyed a celebratory beer in the company of Veteran’s Minister Johnny Mercer, a fitting gesture on the Duke’s 39th birthday.
Meghan was seen sipping a pint handed to her by Harry. The crowd, upon learning of Harry’s birthday, joined in singing “Happy Birthday” in both English and German.
Harry also had a playful interaction with the games mascot, Teddy, and was presented with a cake featuring a miniature figure sporting ginger hair.
Birthday Celebration in a Traditional German Bar
To mark his 39th birthday, Prince Harry celebrated with Meghan at a traditional German bar, where they indulged in bratwurst sausages, wiener schnitzel, and six beers.
This informal birthday celebration added a touch of local flavor to their busy day.
Meghan’s Interaction with Fans
Before the volleyball match, Meghan took a moment to pose for selfies with enthusiastic fans outside the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf.
She graciously granted selfie requests, including one from a group of women who were thrilled to capture a moment with the stylish Duchess.
Special Mention of Prince Harry’s Birthday
During the event, the stadium announcer acknowledged Prince Harry’s birthday, and the crowd joined in singing “Happy Birthday” to the Duke of Sussex.
Harry, appreciative of the gesture, clapped along and mouthed a “thank you” to the spectators.
Promotion of 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver
The couple also attended a reception organized by the Canadian delegation to promote the 2025 Invictus Games, which will feature winter sports for the first time.
Meghan engaged in conversations with members of the organizing committee for the games, which will be held in Vancouver.
This city holds personal significance for the couple, as it was at the Invictus Games in 2017 that they made their first public appearance together.
Additionally, Meghan has close ties to the city due to her previous residence in Toronto while filming the series ‘Suits.’
The Duke and Duchess also spent time in Vancouver in 2019 following their decision to step back from their roles as working members of the royal family
