As Marise Pollard, wife of Springboks fly-half Handre Pollard, wraps up her time in South Africa and heads back to the UK, she took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 18, to share her heartfelt reflections.
A Significant Homecoming
Marise posted about her extended stay in South Africa, noting that it was the longest she’s been home since she was 18.
Handre and Marise first arrived in South Africa in May, just a month after welcoming their son Hunter in April.
This visit allowed Marise to reconnect with family and friends and share precious moments with them.
Heartfelt Farewells and Grateful Goodbyes
Marise shared her gratitude for the time spent at home and the joy of introducing Hunter to loved ones.
She expressed how her heart is overflowing with appreciation for the chance to have been with family and friends.
“This was the longest I’ve been at home since I was 18 years old.
The fact that we got to share Hunter with everyone we love is the greatest privilege.
My heart could not be fuller. Dankie, dankie, dankie,” she wrote.
Returning Home
As bittersweet as it was to leave, Marise is excited to return to their home in the UK and see their dogs.
She mentioned how grateful she is to have multiple places to call home.
“As heavy as it is to say goodbye, it’s so nice to return to our town, to our home with our dogs.
I’m just so thankful to call another country and town home,” she added.
Where Do Handre and Marise Pollard Call Home in the UK?
According to MailOnline, Handre and Marise live in Market Harborough, England.
They moved to the UK in 2022 after Handre signed a significant contract with Leicester Tigers.
While Handre is originally from Somerset West in the Western Cape, Marise was raised on a farm in Bloemendal, Eastern Cape.
