Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has labeled Sheik Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic preacher, as a “venomous snake and a wolf in sheep’s clothes.”

He went on to say that Gumi is worse than Abubakr Shekau, the former Boko Haram leader.

Stakeholders from around the country, as well as Gatekeepers News from the Media, have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to classify the armed bandits wreaking havoc in most parts of the North as terrorists, allowing the Nigerian Army to deal with them effectively and flush them out.

But Gumi in his recent comment, had kicked against the call, insisting that such move would lead to the break down of the corporate existence of the country and advised the Federal Government of Nigeria against such.

Fani-Kayode while reacting to Gumi’s claim in a Facebook post said that the cleric’s father had once declared that Christians should not be allowed to rule the country.

He added that Gumi is currently following the steps of his father.

Fani-Kayode said, “Sheik Ahmad Gumi, the Rasputin of Arewa, whose father once said a Christian must not rule Nigeria and who himself said the FG must not declare the killer bandits as terrorists is worse than Abubakar Shekau & Al Barnawi. He is a venomous snake and a wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
