The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has dismissed the possibility of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) once his tenure comes to an end.
However, despite his affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ortom has pledged his support and assistance to President-elect Bola Tinubu.
In an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Ortom emphasized his unwavering commitment to promoting fairness and justice in Nigeria.
He reiterated his active role in advocating for a Southern presidency, highlighting his involvement with Tinubu and Peter Obi.
Ortom clarified that he currently has no intentions of switching parties and will continue to lead the PDP in Benue State while working towards achieving equity and justice nationwide.
During the February 25th election, Ortom, along with a group known as the ‘G-5’, which consisted of five dissatisfied PDP governors, allegedly opposed the presidential ambitions of former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
Speculation arose suggesting that Ortom lent his support to Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, during that particular election.
