Governor Makinde confirms Ex-Governor Akala’s death

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confirmed the death of the former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Makinde dropped the hint of the death when he was called on to deliver a goodwill message at an ongoing interfaith prayer for Oyo State workers.

The governor, who said he got the news at the event instead of delivering a message, only called for a minute silence and asked that the ongoing programme be ended abruptly.

The former APC chieftain died on Wednesday morning in his sleep at his Ogbomoso country home.

He was said to have been in good spirit the night before until his death was rumoured and subsequently announced.
