Gombe NYSC warns prospective corps members against improper dressing and ‘slim fitting’ uniforms

Ada Imoni, Mrs. Mrs Ada Imoni, the Gombe State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, has warned prospective corps members against defacing the NYSC uniform by slimming it down, using a rubber band at the khaki trouser hem, or cutting it to three quarters.

Mrs Imoni issued the warning on Monday, October 18, just days before the 2021 Batch C Stream I Orientation Course, which will take place from Wednesday through Tuesday, November 9th.

“The scheme’s management has seen a growing tendency of Corps members defacing the NYSC uniform and dressing inappropriately.” As a result, prospective Corps members are instructed not to deface the uniform by wearing it too tight or using a rubber band at the khak’s hem.

They must be ready to be properly dressed for all occasions and functions ,as leaders of tomorrow and role models to millions of youth in the country.
” the statement read.  She also advised prospective Corps members to avoid night journeys and be prepared to observe the Covid-19 safety measures.
  “You are to also come prepared to observe the Covid 19 safety measures of regular use of the face mask , washing of hands under running water and use of alcohol based sanitizers.
With strict adherence to the Covid 19 safety measures, we can mitigate the risk of transmission of the virus on camp,” she said.  “In case of any emergency, contact the following numbers: (State Coordinator; Mrs Ada Imoni (08163711318 ) and Mr Alhasssan Ndako Bida ( 07033783462) Camp Director “Please avoid night journeys and ensure that you board vehicles at designated motor parks.
Break your journey once it is 6pm and continue the next day where necessary. Remember, your safety is our priority.”
