Gombe APC Ready For State Congress

The Committee Chairman of the Gombe State Congress of the All Progressives Congress, Dr.

Danjuma Dabo said screening exercise ahead of the state Congress has began.

Speaking during the stakeholders meeting in Gombe, Dr.

Dabo said the congress would be conducted through consensus, with accreditation taking place according to LGAs at various designated points.

He said that way, the whole process would not take long.

Dr.

Dabo thanked the party at the national and state level, making the process easy for the committee.

Pleased to serve
Governor Yahaya said a meeting has been convened to assess the whole process.

He said the success recorded could not have happened without the support and cooperation of all members, especially party stalwarts in the state, attributing the successes to fairness and justice for all members.

He pledged that the party would continue to ensure fairness and carry everyone along.

“I want to use this opportunity to encourage everybody, especially those that are here together, believing that by the grace of God, they will not be disappointed,” Governor Yahaya said.

He pleaded with every member of the party to fulfil the pledge made at the beginning of the process for the congress, so as to continue as a bunch of broom, which is the symbol of the party.

“I am also appealing that tomorrow’s State Congress is conducted in an orderly manner and according to the agreed procedure, just like the Chairman of the Committee on the Gombe State Congress highlighted,” the Gombe State Governor said.

Worthy and competent leadership
He pledged to abide by the laid down procedure brought from the party’s national headquarters, so as to produce worthy and competent leadership of the party in the state.

Governor Yahaya said the successes of two congresses were based on following the stipulated guidelines, even though with some adjustments and some to be made.

“Therefore, if there is anyone who feels that he is not comfortable with this method, like the Chief of Staff said, then we are going to sit with all stakeholders from each of the local government areas, but if any local government does not have any representation in the Working Committee, for instance, and others have two or three representation, then there is no justice in it,” said Governor Yahaya.

According to him, the changes will make every member have a sense of belonging and be involved in every step taken in the party.

He appealed to those who would not have any position in the state executive to exercise patience.
