Princess Leonor, the heir to the Spanish throne, has transitioned from a private school in South Wales to begin three years of military training at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. Accompanied by her family, she joined the Cadet Battalion and met her military trainers.

The young royal will be residing in a cabin with up to twelve fellow students. She will also receive a haircut and basic military equipment for her training, but will decline her entitled salary of 417 euros. The academy operates on a rigorous schedule, akin to a boarding school, allowing Leonor to return home on weekends unless engaged in training exercises.
Leonor’s educational journey included graduating with the International Baccalaureate from the renowned UWC Atlantic College, which is known for its progressive approach and costs £67,000 per year. The school, referred to as ‘Hippie Hogwarts,’ offers unique courses like Tai Chi and Tibetan literature.
Following Family Tradition
Like her father King Felipe and grandfather Juan Carlos, Leonor will complete her military training with Spain’s three armed services. Her three-year military education will include stints at naval school and the General Air Academy.
University Plans and Resemblance to Father
Post her military training, she is expected to pursue law in university, with details yet to be disclosed. Her academic path closely mirrors that of her father, who attended similar institutions and also studied law.
