Fourth batch of Lagos 2022 HAJJ Pilgrims arrive from Saudi Arabia

345 participants from Lagos State who had been in the just finished Y2022 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have now returned home.

Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Jebe, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic matters, thanked Allah for protecting each pilgrim’s life and giving them the means to actively carry out all the necessary rituals of the spiritual exercise in a news conference following his arrival.

Alhaji Jebe praised the pilgrims for their understanding, tolerance, and cooperation shown toward government representatives throughout the exercise. He also expressed his gratitude to the governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for their assistance in making the pilgrimage a reality.

Engr. (Imam) Shakiru Ayinde Gafar, the chairman of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB), expressed his hope that the Saudi Arabian government would remove all restrictions on future Hajj pilgrimages.

Gafar remarked that the Board expects a higher number of pilgrims to participate in the exercise the following year and assured everyone who signs up to visit the holy place that the State will provide accommodations that are suitable.

Some of the pilgrims also thanked Allah, the State Government, and its representatives for creating a welcoming atmosphere and comfort throughout their stay in the Kingdom.
