Former SGF, Anyim Pius Anyim In EFCC custody over alleged N780m fraud

Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), was interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Sunday, October 24. (EFCC).

While there has been no official comment on why Anyim was interrogated by the anti-graft agency, The Nation reports that it is related to the current investigation of Senator Stella Oduah, a former Aviation Minister.

N780 million purportedly connected to a business related to Anyim, a former Senate president, was allegedly allotted to a restoration project in the ministry under Oduah.

A source told the publication;  “The EFCC on Sunday (yesterday) commenced the interrogation of a former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, in a case on public funds.“Anyim arrived at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Jabi, Abuja, at about 3pm.

“The interrogation is tied to suspected money laundering involving former Aviation Minister and serving senator Senator Stella Oduah.”
