Shaleum Logan, a former Manchester City player, recently shared a glimpse into his football past by posting an image of his professional contract on social media.

But instead of focusing on the usual sports nostalgia, he joked about his earnings, humorously claiming, “Proof I’ve been getting this Saudi money since early.”

The Early Days at Manchester City

Logan came through the Manchester City youth academy, where he was considered a promising talent.

Despite high expectations, his senior career with City was brief, making only three first-team appearances.

His final game in City colors came in 2009.

Inside the Contract Details

The contract Logan shared was dated March 29, 2007, and covered the period from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2008.

According to the document, Logan earned £450 per week, with additional bonuses depending on his involvement in first-team matches.

If selected in the squad of 16, he’d receive £500 per game, and if he played, he’d earn another £500.

Starting a match would land him a cool £1,000 per game.

The contract was signed by Manchester City’s general secretary, Bernard Halford.

Loan Spells and Brief Premier League Appearance

Before signing that contract, Logan had already made appearances in City’s League Cup matches against Bristol City and Norwich.

In 2009, he finally made his one and only Premier League appearance, starting against Portsmouth.

This appearance likely earned him a substantial bonus.

During his time at City, Logan went on loan to various clubs, including Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Stockport, and Tranmere, before being released in 2011.

After his City days, he found success with Brentford and Aberdeen, and even had a loan spell at Hearts before finishing his playing career with Cove Rangers.

A New Chapter After Football

Now retired from football, Logan has taken on a very different career.

He currently works as a rope access bolting technician, marking a significant shift from his days on the pitch.

What’s Next for Logan?

After sharing his story and looking back on his football journey, Logan’s next chapter seems focused on his work outside the sport.

Whether he’ll remain in his current role or transition to something new, only time will tell.
