Former gubernatorial aspirant in Ekiti State dies

A former Nigerian Senator and governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Senator Gbenga Aluko, is dead.

The former lawmaker who represented the Ekiti South constituency between 1999 and 2003, was rushed to a hospital on Saturday after he collapsed in his office in Abuja and he later died.

While a source confirms that he had no medical issues, another source states that he died as a result of a heart attack.

None has proved conclusive as yet.

Aluko who in 2018 contested the governorship ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State was  popularly called “SGA” and he was the son of the late economist, Professor Sam Aluko.
